This famous Italian variety is well suited to the Clare Valley and particularly in such a good vintage as 2015.
2015 was in fact so good, it is the first time my Sangiovese is 100% that variety. As in Italy often there is a small percentage of Cabernet added to give a bit more body.
Colour – Brick red with some nice bright hues.
Aroma – Spicy and berry fruit nose.
Palate – A subtle but multi layered fruit characters of blackberry. A few nutty flavours from the fruit tannins add to the complexity of this wine.
Drink now and great with paella, pasta, risotto and pizza.
