Steve Wiblin’s 2013 Erin Eyes Riesling

My 2013 Riesling was blended from two parcels of Riesling picked two weeks apart. The Watervale parcel was picked when the intense citrus fruit characters and firm minerality of the fruit was optimal. The Armagh Riesling was allowed to ripen longer to give extra citrus character but importantly some tropical fruit characters. The result is a Riesling generous in flavour but with a strong steely backbone.

Bouquet. A soft perfume nose of lemon flowers and musk.

Palate. Packed full of flavours ranging from lime and grapefruit to peaches and pineapple. Soft and flavoursome on the mid palate, it finishes with a steely minerality to give maximum enjoyment. Good drinkability means you can savour on the balcony pre-lunch or dinner and the nice acid allows you to enjoy with your favourite seafood.
